The Elsterwerk is actively committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities. Under the umbrella of the Elsterwerk Foundation, a consortium of companies forms the core, promoting the integration of disadvantaged individuals in all aspects of life. The Elsterwerk's goal is to create optimal conditions to expand opportunities for self-determined living and equal participation.
The new Elsterwerk website no longer distinguishes between the previous entities but consolidates all of the Elsterwerk's services in one place. This streamlines information retrieval and provides an improved overview. There are sections dedicated to work, employment, and services for people with disabilities, presented in easily understandable language. Each section includes contact information for relevant contacts. There are also sections targeting businesses, corporate clients, patients, and guests, filled with information about production, residential facilities, leisure and cultural activities, as well as care and health.
A notable addition is the job portal, which allows applicants to apply directly online. Furthermore, there is the option to filter job offers according to individual preferences, including location, full-time or part-time positions, specific professional categories, and training opportunities, including seasonal employment.
The new Elsterwerk website also features an integrated events calendar, highlighting various events and activities. Special days and dates, such as open house events at workshop facilities, residential centers, or therapy centers, are marked and published on the calendar. Visitors have the opportunity to submit new event dates via a form.
The technical foundation of the website is built on a modern TYPO3 CMS 11 system with extensions like EXT:mask and EXT:container content elements, a news system, and various forms from the TYPO3 Form Framework.
