Farmer's Snack is a German company that specializes in the production and distribution of high-quality nuts, dried fruit and snacks. The company attaches great importance to quality, sustainability and natural ingredients in order to offer healthy and tasty products. Farmer's Snack combines traditional recipes with modern processing techniques and is committed to responsible production and fair trade.
The new Farmer's Snack website has been developed with TYPO3 CMS version 12 LTS. The usability of the CMS is therefore particularly good for the editors and after just a short training session, the Farmer's Snack team can work independently on the website content. We have created a particularly large number of individual content elements and container elements so that the editorial team can independently create new individual landing pages, theme worlds and lots of storytelling about your products and satellite topics such as sustainability, healthy eating, origin projects and much more. The website also offers a retailer finder, interactive origin map, career section with job advertisements and online application, blog, recipes, various forms for all kinds of requests and much more.
The new online store is based on the open source system Magento 2 and offers easy access to all snack products from Farmer's Snack, including the option of creating your own nut/fruit mix with the "Online Mixer" and labeling and packaging it individually. We have thus implemented a "mass customization" function in Magento 2, as is otherwise known from stores such as mymuesli. You can use various filters to quickly find your desired snack, add it to the shopping cart and buy it at the checkout using various payment methods.
Magento and TYPO3 were connected to each other via modern interfaces. Users don't even notice this and have a seamless customer experience, regardless of whether they are looking at TYPO3 content or Magento products. Editors can conveniently link products and categories in the TYPO3 CMS Magento Shop or display them as teasers and have many other options for accessing Magento data in order to create a seamless customer experience. Magento, in turn, can access TYPO3 content, making it even easier for editors to create interesting store content.
In the b2c retail business, sales promotions are an important marketing component and, in cooperation with media partners, discount campaigns and competitions are often organized to increase customer loyalty. Here we use the diverse possibilities of form design in TYPO3 for competitions with various functional extensions and system connections to external newsletter, marketing and CRM systems.
In order to showcase the products better, to link them well internally and thus improve the SEO ranking of the website overall, there is a lot of search engine optimized content around the products. This includes a recipes section and a blog, whose content can be easily linked at any point both on the website and in the store and can therefore significantly increase the time visitors spend on the site and offer a lot of valuable SEO content for Google.
In order to make the search experience within the website and the web store convenient and seamless for visitors, we decided to develop a customized solution in TYPO3 that allows us to search all website and web store content simultaneously. The search results can even be filtered by several categories during the search ("faceted search function") in order to narrow down the types of content to be searched for.
