Only a few weeks until the end of TYPO3 CMS 4.5
In a few weeks, on 31.03.2015, support for TYPO3 CMS version 4.5 will end, i.e. from then on there will be no more security and stability updates for this TYPO3 version. What does this mean in concrete terms? You can continue to use version 4.5 beyond this date, but if your web hosting provider, for example, uses newer software versions on its servers that are no longer compatible with 4.5, you may experience problems operating the website. The same applies to the further development of the web browsers with which you operate the TYPO3 CMS. So at some point it may happen that a new browser version no longer works with 4.5 CMS. But the biggest argument for an update to a current TYPO3 CMS version is the security aspect. If security holes in 4.5 become known after 30.03.2015, there will be no more security updates. We therefore advise you to update to version 6.2 as soon as possible, we will be happy to advise you on this topic and to carry out a technically clean update of your site while retaining all content.
