PROJAHN is a tool manufacturer for high quality hand and precision tools. We have developed a new modern Responsive TYPO3 website with dealer finder, news area, product/catalogue system based on BMECat XML, and much more. The entire product catalogue is maintained via data imports from the in-house PIM system and imported into TYPO3 via BMECat XML files, so that no double content maintenance is necessary. BMECat is an international standard data format for the exchange of complex product catalogues. Due to the large number of product categories and products, special solutions had to be found to make the deeply nested product categories usable both on the mobile and the desktop. In addition, the pure data volume also made special demands on the backend implementation in terms of efficiency and performance for filtering and searching. With the additionally available dealer finder, a Google Maps based proximity search for the nearest sales partners for PROJAHN tools can be made.
